Terms & Conditions
Purpose: This scheme exists to support short, intensive bursts of full-time-equivalent access (e.g. up to two weeks working full-time on a project) — it is not designed to provide sustained full-time access as an ongoing alternative to a membership upgrade.
Eligibility: Open to all active members, any tier, aged 18+ in line with standard membership terms.
Limits: Maximum 4 blocks per member per month (32 extra hours). Total combined access (base membership hours + blocks) is capped at 72 hours per month. Blocks do not roll over between billing cycles.
Usage: Block hours are drop-in access only, on the same basis as standard membership hours. No reserved space, storage or equipment priority is granted by purchasing a block.
Booking priority: Members using block hours queue for shared/bookable equipment (kilns, screen printing rig, etc.) on the same basis as all other members.
Pilot status: This scheme is being trialled and may be changed, paused, or withdrawn at any time based on how it's used. We'll review after 3 months and let members know the outcome.
Fair use: Colchester Makerspace reserves the right to discuss alternative membership options with any member whose usage pattern suggests the space is being used as a primary studio rather than supplementary access.
