Price: £20.00 per block
Sometimes members need a short, intensive boost of access without temporarily upgrading their membership. Membership Boost allows members to purchase blocks of 8 additional hours on top of their existing membership package.
Blocks must be purchased in advance of use.
Hours must be used within 4 weeks of the purchase date.
Each block provides 8 extra hours of access in addition to the member's existing membership hours.
Blocks allow 24/7 space and equipment access, subject to the usual membership rules.
Available to all membership tiers.
Purchase limit: maximum of 4 blocks in any rolling 4-week period.
Weekly access cap: total access (membership hours plus block hours) must not exceed 32 hours in any single week.
Unused hours do not roll over and cannot be carried forward.
This is a pilot scheme and will be reviewed before any decision is made about making it permanent.
Terms and Conditions
Purpose: This scheme supports short, intensive bursts of additional access, such as up to two weeks of full-time-equivalent use on a project. It is not intended to provide sustained full-time access as an ongoing alternative to a membership upgrade.
Eligibility: Open to all active members aged 18+ across all membership tiers, in line with standard membership terms.
Limits:
Purchase limit: members may buy a maximum of 4 blocks in any rolling 4-week period. Hours must be used within that same 4-week window and do not roll over.
Weekly access cap: regardless of blocks purchased or held, members must not access the space for more than 32 hours in any single week, including their existing membership allocation.
Usage: Block hours provide drop-in access only, on the same basis as standard membership hours. Purchasing a block does not include reserved space, storage or equipment priority.
Booking priority: Members using block hours queue for shared or bookable equipment, such as kilns or the screen printing rig, on the same basis as all other members.
Pilot status: This scheme is being trialled and may be changed, paused or withdrawn at any time based on how it is used. It will be reviewed after 3 months, and members will be informed of the outcome.
Fair use: Colchester Makerspace reserves the right to discuss alternative membership options with any member whose usage pattern suggests the space is being used as a primary studio rather than as supplementary access.
